Welcome to the God Redeems Blog! (homework #1)

I have created this blog for our Bible class to help discussion about the unfolding revelation of God in the history of the Bible.  The way this blog will work is that I (Mr. Marcantonio) will post entries about Biblical Theology and you (the students) will respond by leaving thoughtful and respectful comments on posts and even responding to comments from classmates.  I want us to interact with one another in thoughtful dialogue through the blog.  So, here's the first question I want you to consider and comment on:

Does how we behave as Christians change God’s attitude to us?  If your opinion is "yes", explain why.  If your opinion is "no", explain why not?  You should leave one comment with your opinion and one response to a classmate's opinion before our next class on Thursday, 4/11.

  2. Yes, sinning does affect the way God looks at us. In the bible God Says that our sinning displeases God and it makes him unhappy with us.

    1. I think this is a very valid point even though I have a different opinion on the topic

  3. In a way its both yes and no, if you claim your a Christian but don't act like one God isn't going to love you any less, but he might get angry or disappointed with you.

    1. I agree with Zoe in that its yes and no

    2. That's a very interesting viewpoint. I would have never thought that it could be both answers.

    3. i agree with zoe i think it can be both.

    4. I agree, because God never says that he won't be angry or sad but he says that he will love us no matter what.

  4. i believe that God does not change his attitude towards us. Even though he wants us to behave like him. we are not perfect and fallen short to the glory of God. but we all make mistakes, and in the bible it says that God loves us no matter what we say or do.

  5. I would say no because God loves us all equally, and doesn't like love someone more because they act differently.

    1. I don't really agree because the Bible says God hates sinners
(Psalm 5:5 You hate all who do wrong; you destroy those who tell lies.) So he would not love everyone equally.

  6. Id have to say its yes and no. Even though God loves everyone equally no matter who they are or how they've sinned, God still can become very angry toward us.

    1. I see where your coming from, but I don't think he sees us as less of a person. Though what your saying is true.

    2. Yeah, he doesn't love us any less, but sometimes can get angry with us.

  7. I think no because as Christians God forgave us for our sins, so He still sees us as His children. And when we sin God does not see us as less of a person, but still is not proud of us sinning.

  8. I would say no it doesn't. Although we do sin and do break God's rules and commands, He still loves us all the same and still wants to bless us with what we need.

  9. I'd say yes. Yes, God still forgives us for our misbehavior, and he still loves us. But this only happens when you repent. Otherwise, God's view of you would change. In the Bible God blesses those who follow his rules. And he gives consequences to those who don't.

  10. I say no because God's love for us never stops or changes. God hates how we sin but he'll always love us. He sees the Holy Spirit working in us.

    1. That's true, but I think His actual attitude changes depending how we act, for example, when we sin He's sad.

  11. i would say no because we are sinners and we have to learn from our mistakes. God is trying to help us through our struggles.

  12. i dont think it does because God loves us no matter what even if we fail Him. He forgave us when He died on the cross even when He knew we would sin against Him.

  13. I think it's both yes and no because even though God loves us uncoditionally we can't go through our lives doing whatever we want and expecting for Him to always love us we have to live in a way that honors Him even though He loves us.

  14. I think it's a no because Jesus sacrificed himself for us and as it says in the book of John whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. I'm not telling you that you can sin as much as you want if you believe in him but if you do sin you're right back where you started.

  15. Yes, because although God loves us as Christians with His unconditional love, I believe that it saddens Him when we sin and He rejoices when we obey Him.

  16. I say its no because in Romans it says for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god.

    1. I agree because it is saying how everybody sins yet he loves us all

  17. In my opinion I believe that God's attitude towards us doesn't change because God loves us unconditionally. He loves you through the good times and bad times. And loves you when you do Christian acts and when you don't. This doesn't mean that God isn't disappointed when you do the wrong thing, but God forgives his people.

  18. I would say no, because God always loves us no matter what, and he loves us all equally.

    1. although he loves us all equally, I would say that his overall attitude towards us can change because in Proverbs 8:13, the Bible states that God hates all evil. If we behave evilly, God will be sad.

  19. I would say yes, our behavior can change or affect God's attitude towards us. Even though God promised that he loves us all, if we sin against him, I believe that God could have righteous anger toward us, and therefore, changing God's attitude with his people.

  20. How we behave as Christians does change God's attitude towards us. The way God treats shows how much we care about him. If we sin against God he will be displeased with us.

  21. Why does God want us learn from our mistakes by punishing us?
